Leadership Team
Saisha is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School in California. Though the program began under adult and high school mentorship, Saisha’s ambition and drive helped her grow into the role of President, ultimately leading Speak to Lead with confidence and impact. She began leading Speak to Lead in 2020 and has since successfully organized multiple projects as President, including the 2020 Talent Show, the 2021 Carnival, the 2022 Winter Toy Drive, the 2023 Bake Sale, and the College Admissions and Youth Mental Health Fundraiser. She also served as Finance Manager for the 2022 STEAM Career Fair. A former Youth Board Member for Girl Scouts of Northern California, Saisha advocated on behalf of over 40,000 youth. She is deeply passionate about community impact and devotes herself to serving others through various platforms, whether it’s by leading initiatives, mentoring peers, or advocating for youth-driven change. She likes to sing. debate, and spend time with her friends in her spare time!
Vaibhav Somesula is a junior at Centerville High School, VA. This is his fifth year in speaktolead- Youth leadership program. He got introduced to speaktolead Youth Leadership Program in 2020. He has been part of the program for three years and has led the team in various leadership projects. He was the Youth Secretary in the 2020 and 2021 leadership projects. He led successfully as a Youth President for the 2022 STEAM Career Fair. Outside of school, Vaibhav enjoys public speaking, reading, playing violin, and helping others through clubs such as Model United Nations and tutoring.
Bidhi Pant is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School, located in San Ramon, California.
She has a passion for public health and health equity, and wants to help people around her
learn more about current health issues. She has background on research and writing scientific
papers, as well as presenting scientific posters to a panel of healthcare professionals. She has
won national and regional research poster awards from Project UNITY (a public health nonprofit
organization) and is involved in various volunteer opportunities. Bidhi loves to make art and to
read during her free time. She also likes to play with her cat Cheeto and has a love for nature.
Past Volunteers
A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Arjun is one of the mentors on the YLP team. For the second phase of the program, the team explored debating and public speaking. With 6 years of debating experience, Arjun gave the team an introduction to organized debate by explaining the rules, assigning topics, and evaluating rounds. Following the second phase, Arjun chose to stick around because he enjoyed being around the kids and wanted to help them with setting up the carnival.
Richa Misra is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. She thoroughly enjoyed working with all the kids by practicing public speaking skills, working on the final carnival event, and more. Outside of school, Richa herself enjoys public speaking and helping others through clubs such as Model United Nations and tutoring.
